Fanuc board

Hello All! The transformer outside my house was hit by lightning a while ago. Tech came and said all the rs232 chips were fryed. Sent my rs232 boards (lathes) to Fanuc to fix....all is well. I did not fix the mill yet...call them today and they say now they do not fix my board anymore. ???

board # a16b-3200-0490/03a (oi-mb control new in 2007)

Fanuc does have a new one but it is expensive. My question is does anyone have a lead for someone to fix this zapped board? Thank you very much......Dean

just repaired the same problem on a 16iA motherboard. I replaced all the 75188 and 75189 surface mount chips . You can get them from Digikey or Mouser .

I will look on the board to see if those chips are on there. I wonder why Fanuc said these boards can not be fixed?

My CNC fix-it dude send my boards to a guy in auckland , New Zealand. Since i live in NZ for me it's not too much of an issue for me. I could find out if you would like (Depending if you wanna send them this way)

It was more GE Fanuc that did repairs, now they will only want to sell you a new one i'm affraid.

the board is in the box that says main on top......

remove the conectors and pull the board out ....

good lord.....these surface mounted chips are tiny.....

try Tennesee industrial electronics their website is fanucworld.com, the company I work for sends them a lot of repair work usually cheaper than fanuc, normally faster too. We still send a lot to fanuc but these guys have been a good back up plan for us to call

Fanuc must be using different chips on that board.
Tennesee Industrial is good. You can also try Pelican Industrial and Uptime Electronics.

Fanuc world said they do not repair that board but they will sell me one if i give them my board in exchange?????
Can you beliviee this! I will call Pelican Industrial and Uptime Electronics today.
