Selecting Inch As Unit In Settings Screen Not Working

Hi All,

I have searched for hours now and I cannot find anything to help me with what seems to be a simple matter.

I accidentaly deleted the parameters for my Fanuc 3M Model A controller. Luckily, they were printed so I easily reinput them.

The settings page (just before machine parameters) was also reset to all zeros. To use inches on the machine the parameter setting needs to be input as a "1". However, the machine will not accept it. All the other setting parameters will change from "0" to "1" but not this one.

I also tried to input G20 in MDI mode and I received Alarm 010 which says it is an invalid G Code.

The machine has always been used in inches mode and the dsiplay always showed inches. However, in the past I did once switch to metric to see if it worked and it did. It also switched back to inches at that time.

I can't understand why the controller is not allowing the change now. Any ideas?

parameter 1 bit 5 is the option for inch/metric. Turn it on.

I thought it would be something simple.

Funny, my printed list of parameters began at 004 and my maintenance manual also started at 004. So, I did not input parameters 001 through 003.

Can you tell me what the other bits of these three parameters are for or where I can find a list?
