Looking for 27C64 Ladder chips Fanuc 0-A or B

I'm looking to lay my hands on some ladder logic chips from a dead machine. I need to verify that my PC Writer from Fanuc will read, decode and burn new chips. The problem is that I don't have any chips to experiment with.

The chips will have a part number silk screened onto them something like
27C64-15. These were used on the old Fanuc 0 models A and B controls. The later model B and C controls used 27C256 chips. I have these.

If I can get this to work, I plan to modify some ladders on a few grinders. I don't want to experiment on the only good chips I have.

Thanks for the info. I was trying to find some old chips that had already been programmed. It looks like my best bet is to program some new ones.

I just need one set to see if the PC Writer I have will work with the 27C64 chips. I have one set but when I try to decompile them I get a ROM parity error. I'm not sure if the problem is with the chips or the PC Writer I'm using. I can work with the 27C256 chips without a problem.

I tried burning some blank chips but couldn't get these to work. It may be that the PC writer doesn't support the older chips. I noticed that the 256 LED comes on when I try to work with the 64 chips. I may be doing something wrong.

What are you using to communicate to the PMC writer with? The old series 0-MA / 0-MB can not be done on a laptop. You need a Fanuc PG Mate.

That could be the problem. I have been using a laptop for several years to modify the ladder on 0-C controls. This is my first shot at doing a 0-A control. I haven't seen a P-G Mate in many years.

It looks like I may need to find another way to activate an M-code.

I have a PG Mate emulator. It runs on XP. But I think you have to use a special EProm Reader/Writer NOT the Fanuc PMC writer. I have never used it but I can send you a copy. It is 3.25 MEG Zip file. It was designed just for what you are trying to do and it's free. Do you want a copy?
