I have a 2005 Romi lathe with a fanuc 21i-t controller. It has a thread repair cycle I use to chase threads. I've done all kinds of right hand threads: internal, external, tapered, double lead, regular. So far I haven't had any luck trying to do this with left handed threads of any kind. I've tried to do it with a right hand tool to cutting from back to front running the chuck CW, and i've tried to do it with a left hand tool cutting from front to back with the chuck turning CCW. The book says it can chase left hand threads. If anyone can help it would be appreciated. |
