We have a 0-M with something screwy going on. We use the X-axis in handle .010 per click. we zero the relative screen and our indicator. move the x axis about a foot off the block (using the hand wheel) and then back to the block till the indicator reads zero and the display reads that it's a .010 off location. then move it back off again and zero the indicator and then the display reads .020. but then I put handle in .001 per click. do the same process and comes out with in a .0005. so now thinking. We did the same steps. but we wrote a mdi program to go out 3 inch's from the block and back 3 inches to the block at position in 100% rapid and we were with in .0005 again. the machine is an old Cincinnati horizontal. It has 100" of x travel. So now we moved down to the other side of the table and tested and the same thing and the .010 handle in X axis repeats with in .0005 again. We tested .010 per click in the Y and Z axes and are repeating. I could not believe this either till we tested it every way I we could think of. So me a rookie Tech and a machinist of 30 years are stumped. please any help would be great. But I just can't believe what I'm seeing. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
