This control is new to us usually we run the 18MC. I am wondering how to assign a specific program number to a file we are pulling off a server. The control always seems to assign O0001 and we have probing programs that stay on the machine and they are O0001 -12. Is there a way to specifically assign a program number to a file? For example O0100? On the older control we can enter O100,SV1.TAP and it will load the file as program O0100. I hope this makes sense. Thanks. |

| Does it always assign O0001 as the program number even if you make the file name in the server O1234 as an example? What you make the file name may not matter depending on the software you are using to transfer programs. What matters is the beginning part of the program in the actual file. For fanuc it usually starts with O or : but O is most common so in the beginning of the program label it O1234 and see what it does. Stevo |

I've never seen the format O100,SV1.TAP used when loading programs into CNC memory. The 18iM-B and 18M-C instructions for loading a program through RS232 are identical. |

| We are using the data server. On the 18mc we get the file onto the control we can load it as O100,SV1.TAP and it will load the program as O0100. Sorry I am not a Fanuc expert. Last edited by BJSwart; 03-24-2011 at 09:32 AM. |
