Hello everyone. I run a bridgeport tc-4 mill with a fanuc o-m control at work. I ran into an issue today that I had no answer for. I was hoping that I could get an answer here. While c'sinking a series of holes my c'sink wanted to chatter when using a standard g82 cycle. I figured I would just peck the hole and dwell at the bottom. So I changed the cycle to g83 and inserted a dwell (p2000). However it ignores the dwell. I also put a peck in my g82 cycle. It ignores that as well. Any tips on how I can accomplish this in the future? My Heidenhain will allow me to dwell in my pecking cycle. Is this control just too old? Thanks In Advance! |

| thanks for the response. you are correct, it does dwell with a p value in the g82 cycle. i was wondering if i could make the g83 cycle dwell as well. we don't have the sharpest chamfer tools and what we do have is reground by whomever is the cheapest in the area.... so its looking like tough luck then huh? |

| I guess I really didnt think of writing a custom macro. I guess I should do some googling for some examples. I have never wrote one for a fanuc control, but have for 2 different fadal controls. If I get something to work I will post it here and share it with the world |
