I've got an '88 Okuma LB15 with the above spindle drive and have blown one or more of the transistor modules due to presumably inadequate 3 phase power from my homemade converter. Alarm 3 on top board points to F7 fuse. Okuma manual says check/replace the four transistor modules and replace the fuse. I pulled TM-1 and it measures 3/4 bad. I don't have the Fanuc manual for this SDU and the wiring is pretty scary. I wrote down some diagrams to help insure that I get it back in right. If I do upper and lower left side then upper lower right side I won't have to have too much wiring loose at once. Can anyone point me to a manual? Anyone have any experience with this repair? How are these modules wired? They look like their wired in pairs together. Is it possible that TM-1 is 'first in line' and the only one blown? Thanks in advance!! |

I've been able to purchase the replacement Transistor Modules for this unit but when replacing them, one of the two components strapping the 1st and 2nd halves of TM-4 in the control broke. It's the only Module that has these two components attached and I don't know what they are. Their axial components that are shaped like little white spheres where the 'functional' part of the component is. White in color with some small green dots around the perimeter and a stripe. Does anyone know what these are and what value/wattage ? Thanks, Will |
