Well they found me a new problem. Makkino A55 with fanuc 15 controler. Now do not laugh but this is actualy happening. Running with the rapids turned down to 25% no problems, machin is accurate and parts are good. tool changes and pallet changes great. Now put it to 50% or 100% parts are not good. X Y and Z axes vary up to 0.045" and are not consistant parts are scrap but tool changer and pallet changer work great. I have done a backlash test, a squareness test and am out of ideas. The fact that the tool and pallet changer works seems to eliminate mechanical isues and the fact it makes good parts when run at low rapids seem to eliminate programing issues. Any Ideas out there? Thanks guys |

| Is this something that just started? When you say rapids, I assume you are talking about feed rate over ride, G01 etc? (some machines are programmed with a G00 rapid over ride) The FRO at 100% is based on the F value programmed. Al.

Blxxdy Cold! Not quite clear where you are getting the error, obviously you should not cutting in rapid? Is it that after rapid, the positioning moves G01 etc are not accurate? Al.

| Problem is positioning. Example, we rapid to tool change position, pickup the spot drill. Rapid to the part and spot the part, for example sake G54. Now rapid to tools change, get the drill and rapid back to the part same coordinates and drill. The drill could be anywhere. and thats the problem. Its like the z and Y is slipped. Problem is with that thought is tool changer stilll works. Cold here in MB to. getting tired of it. time to go south soon |
