I am new to all of this cnc stuff couple of questions how do you upload to this controller? Is there software for autocad conversion to nc? thanks

Usually you can download this free but it seems their site is down for now.

Autocad is a CAD system, you will need a CAM system to convert to maching path, tool offsets etc, and then it is run through a post processor that configures it for your machine and converts to Gcode before sending it out the port.

where do i hookit to from what i understand this is a tape machine do i need some sort of interface to connect with machine?

You will need a Behind Tape Reader (BTR). There are quite a few manufacturers of these devices; the one I’ve used in many installations is one made here in Australia and I’ve found it to be very reliable. It comes pre-configured, with Comms software, and requires no tools except for a piece of cloth to clean the surface where it’s to be mounted.
