| hi everyone can you help me in this problem?![]() My mission is to make a code to create a hexagonal as figure above using Winnc GE fanuc 21M(c)(Milling machine) .I dont know how to program this one. The cutting tool is always vertical to the x axis. I tried using G7.1 to make the workpiece turn an angle but in this case the Y axis is useless also after a G7.1 block the workpiece turn back to the initial position . So anybody can help me in this problem? thanks you ![]() sorry for my bad English grammar |

| I can’t make out the length of the shaft in your attached drawing, but you have two choices to machine the hex. 1. If the shaft is short enough to mount vertically, then the hex can be profiled by the tool moving on a hexagonal path. 2. If the shaft is too long to mount vertically, the shaft is mounted horizontally; employing the fourth axis to rotate the part 60 degrees after each flat has been machined to allow the machining of all subsequent flats. Regards, Bill |
