Fanuc monitor info

Does anyone know what the fanuc monochrome 18M monitor refresh rate is?

Has anyone made a cable to go from the fanuc cpu to a standard LCD monitor?

It looks like it is just a RGBHV signal comming from the CPU but what refresh rate does it use on the HV signals, and are they standard?

Thanks.
Dave

Fanuc monitors use non standard sync signals. On some they will sync with a vga monitor but use 90% of the vertical screen. We have successfully used a 12.1" lcd colour monitor to replace the 14" crt and have replace an 9" monochrome screen with a 8.4" lcd. This may work on yours depending on the model.

NEC NL6448BC26-01. YOU CANNOT CONNECT A LCD MONOTOR DIRECTLY BECAUSE THE NEEDED BIT CLOCK IS NOT AVAILABLE ON THE FANUC VIDEO CONNECTOR.

Im sorry but I am not sure what you mean by bit clock.
Is it part of the H and V signals?

Fanuc Monitor

Hi Dave,
We experimented with standard "smart" video convertors to link an LCD to our 11m and while we did get a clear signal the picture was clipped which most importantly lost the soft keys. My pal who is into all things video found it was something called the front and back porch of the signal that could not be adjusted on the standard video convertors. Dont ask me to explain as I am not up to speed on technical video speak but the net result was we found a secondhand monitor that worked. Fanuc seem to have tweaked the signals so standards will not work. Good luck finding one that will.

the bit clock is the original clock signal that produces the sync signals. It is not output to the video connector so for a lcd panel so it has to be regenerated on the panel. We are working on this.
