Rigid Tapping?

When I purchased my machine they weren't sure if it had rigid tapping, we looked at the parameters and it said no for rigid tapping and we looked at the options sheet and rigid tapping was not cheked. After I received the machine I noticed that the inverter was marked RT ready. Today I was cleaning the motor fan, when I took the cowl off I noticed a encoder mounted on top of the motor. It says accu-coder and encoder on it so I'm sure its a encoder. Is this just a matter of enabling a parameter or could the machine still be missing hardware? Either way what do I need to do to enable the rigid tapping?

The machine is a VMC40 with a 88HS

if you have a tool changer you have an encoder to orient the spindle and you can tap
in the machine,i do it with mine,as long as you have a program that can do it,or you write one yourself,im not sure you can do repeat rigid tapping,i havnt tried that yet
