Hi Im wondering if there's any G code to turn the coordinate system a specific degree to make it go in Z and X to drill a hole with a angle head. Sure i could calculate the coordinates but would be much easier if such a G code exists Also easier to check if the angle head is set right to be able to use HM drills.Example G00 Z5. X100. G## 30 degrees G81 X80 It would drill to X80. and Z# in 30 degrees. Fanuc 18iTB |

| Looks like this is something i don't have ![]() What would you guys prefer? Calculating the coordinates by hand/edgecam, upgrade to get that option, upgrade to Manual Guide I. If something should go wrong we can't really take the drill out in manual mode without this option :s We are considering Manual Guide I, kinda hard to get any info on how good it is, im used to FAPT and Okuma's IGF, and if manual guide i is as easy and good as that i can't see any reason not to buy it. We mostly program simple part, big machine and only 3 axis so not that advance. I would think that Edgecam would be slower to program our part's and changing cut depth, feed rates and speed. Anyone with any experience? |

| Hi, Optionally the Fanuc lathe controls can use an angle command. Either the X or the Z command can be replaced by an A command. Instead of: G0 X50. Z2. G1 X13.05 Z-30. You can program: G0 X50. Z2. G1 A210. Z-30. Or: G0 X50. Z2. G1 X13.05 A210. A+ is Counterclockwise from the 3 O'clock position. A- is Clockwise from the 3 O'clock position. A0 is or Z+ direction. A90. or A-270. is the X+ direction. A180. or A-180. is the Z- direction. A270. or A-90. is the X- direction. The A command can be programmed to the 3rd decimal place (A12.345). I hope this helps. | G0 X50. Z2. G1 X13.05 A210. Would only make it go in X direction. What's the best option? Upgrading to Manual Guide I and G68.1 or use edgecam? We have allot of different part's and we need to best way to program. |
