Fanuc 10TF EMG ReSeT message, but CANNOT clear, any Ideas?

Ok, As some of you know I bought this Hitachi Seiki Lathe a couple months ago, and have been battling the issues. First I had a bad mother board, got that fixed, got the new parameters installed, etc. Now there is an alarm on the control. Ok, I start the machine with the main switch in the back, then the on button on the control panel. Then I turn the Estop switch to the normal, non emergency position. The CRT lights up, going right to the FAPT side of things. The LED light on the control panel is on, about three seconds after I hit the power on button. I go to the NC/PC switch, and on the bottom of ALL of the screens, on the NC side it says "emg reset" But this Emg reset switch is in the correct run position, as well as I hit the reset button, but nothing changes. Another odd thing, is that before "emg rst" It says which mode the control was started in. For instance, if I hit the on button when it was in MDI mode, it will read "MDI EMG RST". Or if I turn the control on in the handle mode, it will say "hdl emg rst". When the control is on, and the Emergency stop button is in the run position, I can hit standby and the hydraulic pump turns on with pressure.

By the way, I looked in the ladder, on the 91-98 lines, and there is the emergency button line, and it will light up when I push it, and turn back off when I release it. So I know the machine is seeing the actual button itself. Also if I turn the machine on with the Estop pushed, and I try to hit the standby button to turn on the hydraulic pump, it will not turn on the pump. But if I release the button, and hit the standby button it will turn on the hydro. Also while the hydro is running, and I hit the Estop, the Hydraulic pump does not turn off, As I think it should.

Ok, I know alot of info, but this is really frustrating me. Any Ideas on what it could be? I have looked all over the machine to try and find another switch or interlock, to no avail. Please, please help

Buy me a Beer?

As you can imagine, it is extremely hard to trouble shoot this from a distance, especially where you have a machine that you received in non-working order with after market wiring!.
You definitely need the machine schematics, ladder print and I/O designations.
I believe the manual I have is a similar machine, but unfortunately the ladder rung print does not show all designation/names.
You need to start at what relays etc should be picked up before anything else.
For example, I show two Machine ready relays PRE1 & PRE2.
These are in parallel and have EMG1 contact with HYD1 Y000.0 and Y020.0 in series.
Looking at the rung with Y020.0 shows it is enabled by internal register bit R172.0.
It is then required to check the coil output R172.0 to find out what rung functions will energizes it?
But the Symbol and comment list is very incomplete as far as the documentation I have.
Which also makes it difficult without function cross reference in the ladder.
It only shows the apparently 'crucial' ALARM symbols, as follows:
R102.0 ALARM
R283.0 HYD PRESS NORMAL
R283.1 HYD PRESS ABNORM
R283.2 AIR PRESS NORM
R283.3 AIR PRESS ABNORM
R283.6 LACK OF LUBE
R400.0 MOTORS ALARM
R400.1 BREAKERS TRIPPED
R400.0 MOTORS ALARM
R400.1 BREAKERS TRIPPED
R400.0 MOTORS ALARM
R400.1 BREAKERS TRIPPED
R400.0 MOTORS ALARM
R400.1 BREAKERS TRIPPED
R400.2 SP MOTOR ALM
R400.3 AXIS TORQUE ALM
R400.4 PRESSURE ALM
R400.5 LACK OF LUBE
R400.6 Q-SETTER ALM
R400.7 TOOLS USED UP
R401.0 MEM X AXIS TORQUE ALM
R401.1 MEM Z AXIS ALM
R401.2 CENTRE ALM
These are probably Operator Alarms to be displayed on the screen.

I did watch that vid.. Interesting.

I'm looking forwards to the ladder on my 10T with FAPT that I've been building for a few months.

I've got other control builds going on in my shop that is forever growing.. but I'm learning a lot from this.

I'll help with whatever I can.

I thiink you are very close to isolate failure.
because the ladder is allowing you to finish power On sequence, as Stand by button starts hydraulic, it means all conditions for Normal power On are met.
I will suggested to check Z axis clutch, as you must know there is one for X and Z, it is a mechanical protection when there is been a collition. It is located between motor coupling and ballscrew, you have to find two little marks align them by rotating then apply enough pressure to close it. this will make the sensor.hisopee this is your case.
Robby.
