Speaking of 10TF Controls...

How do they store their parameters? Do they have some type of NV memory?

The reason I ask is that my buddy has a 10M control and his has batteries. My Daewoo Puma 8 with 10TF has been torn down to the slides for about 3 years. I don't remember it having batteries anywhere.

But, I know that if I lose the parameters I am screwed cause I have no way to get them back. Unless I get lucky and Daewoo/Doosan happens to have records for my serial number.

Am I screwed?

Thanks,
Michael

Your buddy has the volatile memory storage, you most likely have bubble memory, if so the instructions on how to initialize and load the memory is in the maintenance manual.
You should record ALL parameters, keep relays, counters, 9000 option parameters, 9000 macro programs etc.
Remind your buddy to do it also, if he has not already done it.

Hi Al!! Long time no type. Hope everything has been good in your world.

Okay.. Since there are no batteries in my machine I am safe to assume it has bubble memory, right? Bubble memory is non-volatile, so theoretically I shouldn't have to worry, right?

My friend's machine came to him with dead batteries. Fortunately he was able to get the parameters from another identical machine. Saved.

I just don't want to end up in the same boat, since I am sure I'd have a heck of a time getting the parameters for the machine. Plus there is no way I can power it up to write them all down. I am kicking myself for not logging all of them before I took it apart to overhaul/repair it, but what's done is done and I'll just have to deal with it as it comes. I never intended for the machine to be apart as long as it has, but I guess sometimes things happen in life that shift your priorities for a while. I'm hoping to have the thing back together and running again in about a year.

Thanks,
Michael

If you have a card, often next to the P.S. marked CABM or BMU, this will be bubble memory, it is non-volatile, but sometimes it requires to be re-initialized in the event of getting corrupted.

Thanks Al,

I'll take a look. Would the card be in the rear of the machine where the spindle drive, etc, are at, or would it be with all the rest of the boards behind the control screen?

Thanks,
Michael

Ok, so I looked.. I have:

Add Memory Board
Opt Interface Board
ACP Board
A yellow cartridge looking thing labelled MTB
Plus another board on the door that just has a part number on it
And another one in the crt housing that looks like an interface board.

I'm thinking the MTB cartridge thing may be it, but I don't know for sure.

Thanks,
Michael

I've been curious about the 10, 11 and 12 configurations.

I have also been wondering if FANUC used the same numbering convention in the board part numbers, A16B-1210, A16B-1211 and A16B-1212.

I've been trying to compile a better list of what boards go to which 10, 11 and 12 system.. but I am also trying to figure out what they are.

I'll start with the 1210's...

These all appear to be RAM or ROM boards..

A16B-1210-0200
A16B-1210-0210
A16B-1210-0220
A16B-1210-0230
A16B-1210-0270
A16B-1210-0280
A16B-1210-0290

These appear to be ROM, RAM and Axes Boards.

A16B-1210-0410
A16B-1210-0430
A16B-1210-0440
A16B-1210-0450
A16B-1210-0470
A16B-1210-0471
A16B-1210-0480
A16B-1210-0481

Can anyone identify them for me?
