Question FANUC 10M ATC COUNTER NOT RIGHT

I just got this machine A few weeks ago.
The atc works but the pot count is wrong it is set to 24 my atc is only 20 pot
caresel. I know how to get to counter in nc/pc I can see it is set to 24 but
do not know how to change it. I have run Milltronics and others but very

Not 100% sure on the 10M control, as I don't have any parameter manuals that old. However, the newer ones are not handled via parameter, but typically in the G date or keep relays. I would check with the machine manufacturer first. Otherwise, if it is a parameter, call Fanuc directly and they should be able to look up which parameter it is.

Thanks The no. that is set wrong is in the PC parameters is under the counter list.
I have parameter list for the machine witch by the way is A 760XL Leadwell.
The list even says that counter should be set to20.

You should be able to change this by setting PWE bit and in MDI mode go to the counter you want to change and do so. If this does not work then there may be a keeprelay bit that needs to be set in order to edit the counters. I have never come across one on the 10series I have worked on.

Your PWE bit is for "Parameter Write Enable". It will be parameter 8000 bit 0. Bits run right to left 7-0 (76543210). Go into your "settings" softkey, you may have to press it a few times to reach it. Then go to parameter 8000 and set it like so 00000001. Your machine will alarm. You have to be in MDI mode to set it. Now you are able to change your parameters. So proceed to the PMC counter and change it to 20. Once finished go back to your PWE bit and set it to 0 and press "reset" to clear the alarm.

Your welcome for the help.

2 things may be causing this. You have to make sure that you are under the “settings” softkey and not the “service” softkey. They are right next to each other and get you to pretty much the same settings. Press the “settings” key until it reads “settings(service)” at the top left of the screen, then go to the 8000.

The other problem may be that you have a write protect key on the control that is switched on. Turn it off.

Glad to see you got it up and going.

My bad on the E-stop. I have not been on a 10series in some time now. My 15’s are similar and I don’t have to be in E-stop. Over looked it.
