I did something that has frozen my 2000C control. Fanuc tech support says the CPU is hung up. Board #9 has 18 LEDs. 9-16 and PL1 are lit. When I turn it on, the POS/SUB display will give me 8 digits and I can't enter anything. Those 8 numbers stay on the display no matter what I do. They sometimes change when I turn the machine off and on. Some codes I have gotten are: 10030026 10031133 10011133 10020123 10000123 10000022 |

| Do you have a "parity" alarm LED lit? If so, then you may have to clear your parameters and reenter them. I can't remember how the LEDs on the 2000C memory board are numbered, but there should be 4 groups of 4 LEDs for the "Address". If you need me to interpret the address of the CPU hangup, I'll need you to send me a photo of those LEDs so I can see how they're numbered (Left-to-right or right-to-left). It sounds like you have some bogus data in the static RAM chip that holds your parameters. Find the toggle switch on the back of the LED display panel (inside the cabinet). It's should be labeled "PRM" or "Write/Enable". Throw that switch (with the power off), then hold the INPUT button while you turn power on. That will erase all your parameters. (Since my memory is fuzzy on this, you may have to hold the blue START button instead, but you can try both INPUT and START - one at a time, of course). If the CNC comes up "ready", you'll need to re-enter the parameters. I hope you have a list of them - The procedure for entering the parameters is on another post I made several years ago. Look at : http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29136 Hope this helps. Dan Fritz |

| No Parity error. The LEDs on the memory board are numbered left to right. The first 8 are not lit. 9-16 are lit. PL2 is #17 from the left and PL1 is #18. PL2 is not lit. PL1 is lit. ![]() I have gone through the parameter reset procedure repeatedly, but nothing happens. I can't enter anything. |
