6M Home position problem

Hi

I have a Yamazaki Power Center V-7.5 with a Fanuc 6M(B) controller that has lost it's Y home position. It runs to the Ref Point switches and goes into creep mode for the last 30mm ish (not sure of the true run distance) but has forgotten when to stop creeping and runs into the hard stops and trips the drive motors out.

On our Takumi V-11A with Fanuc 0-M Control, when it did the same trick we could press <P> and <CAN> and get it to refind it's "home" position, but I have failed to find the same key combination to do the same with the 6M.

Any suggestions?

Regards

Richard

Thanks for your reply, the machine is fully aware of the reference switches and correctly flips into creep mode, it just has no idea (in Y axis only) when to stop the creep.

I have checked the function of the reference and limit switches and lubricated as a matter of course

its supposed to hit the decel switch.. slow get off switch and add grid shift and stop..

possible causes are somebody moved the decel too close to the hard ot..

the 1 rev signal from encoder is not present..

grid shift is too high

If it is not seeing the marker pulse before the O.T. switch, try pressing the home switch well away from the dog position and see if it references, this will prevent it hitting the O.T.
If it keeps on creeping with this test, the encoder marker is missing.
Does it have encoders or resolvers?

Thanks for the replies so far

Does anyone know the parameters that control the creep distance. I have a param list but no decoding of what does what. Some of them are fairly obvious, ie software limit travel etc, but I'm fairly lost at most of the others.

Thanks in advance

Richard

Update - Fixed

Just for reference...

I swapped X & Y encoders over, when removing 'Y' encoder I noticed that the grub screws had come loose on the encoder coupler. Swapped over anyway (easier to get to 'X' if still faulty) and now the machine is working as it should.

Again thanks for the help and the advice which pointed me in the right direction.

Now all i need to do is work out how to save my current parameter list as P-9999 <PUNCH> doesn't seem to output to RS232.

Go to Diag/Para in EDIT push OUTPUT/START.
In order to also dump the 900 parameters, Hold EOB and OUTPUT/START.
I just realized you have a 6, I am not sure if it is the same for 6M? These I believe have the options on the first few parameter locations.
