I really need to find out how to "properly" use a g73 on fanuc controls for a lathe. When I was attemping this last night I was dumbfounded to find out that there was do "D" on the controls.......how odd, any way apon closer inspection I found out That to use this profile repeat code it actually uses 2 g73 blocks. Can anyone please explain to me how to use this code and what EXACTLY all the letters do in it, what they are for, and how to do any calculations to use any of them, thank you for your time. | Canned cycles on lathes are not my strong suite but I use them enough to give you some info. Lets say you want to turn a OD flange of 8.5” 1.5” deep and the OD is at 9.5” you would write your code something like this. G0X9.5Z1. Z.1 G73P10Q20U()W()D() N10G0X8.5 G1Z-1.5F() N20X9.5 G0X12. Z3. M30 The P10 and Q20 are the blocks that the canned cycle will run N10 to N20. The U() is the finish stock you want to leave on the diameter (X). The W is the finish stock you want to leave on the face or Z. The D() is your pick size. If you don’t want to leave finish stock then they will be U0W0. Hope this helps. If anyone has a better example/info please share. Stevo |
