Greetings - I am in the process of loading a series of Renishaw macro's into my Fanuc 18i-MB. Parameter Write Enable (PWE) is 1; 12010 is 2; 12011 is 8980; 12012 is 12010. I want to change the range of embedded macro's by changing the value in 12011. When I try and change it I get a "WRITE PROTECT" error. I can change 12010 as well as other parameters so the issue doesn't seem to be simple parameter editing. Is there another level of protection or something else I have missed to change parameters 12011/12012? Thanks - Jon |

| Sorry, I neglected to mention that I have already changed NE8 and NE9 in 3202 to 0. I found that but it didn't solve the problem of 12011 having a "WRITE PROTECT" error. I wonder if there is another level of permissions (for instance, if you wanted to edit the tool change macro?) but that might be different yet from my problem of changing 12011. Thanks for looking! |

| i have also run into this, on an 18i-mb on a hardinge vmc... even with the password in 12013 (which you need to change 12010 from what i understand... after changing 12010 you can then "see" the embedded macros in program storage, right?, in green) i still cant change that range... i'll check with someone who may know and see if i can find out... - gwarble |

| in the meantime you may be able to save your desired program within that range to the embedded space in f-rom... have you tried that? do you have that password/the ability to edit the embedded macros? and of course there are other workarounds if you are unable to fix this... the simplest being use 7XXX program numbers and G65 P7XXX calls... but thats an annoying workaround my machine uses 8500-8515 for embedded macros using the custom screen (and simple macro via MCD signals) as well as 9003 for the toolchange macro... but has that entire range blocked via param 12011... luckily mine stops at 9003 so i'm able to still make custom g and m-code macros - gwarble |
