Problem- ALARM 233

Hi all,
Can anyone help with the following error. We have a fanuc 21iMB control with card reader option. This has been used many times, but now is throwing an error:- 233 Bp/s alarm. Everything is being set as we have done many times before ie I/O device=4 etc. This alarm is firing as soon as we insert the card into m/c. Any ideas ???

Is parameter 0110 bit 0 set to 0? If it's 0, then parameter 0020 sets the device for both input and output. If it's 1, parameter 0020 sets the input device and 0021 sets the output device (for foreground edit). Maybe someone changed this?

Hi, and thanks for the reply dcoupar, the parameters you spoke of look fine. Maybe its broke, will have to get fanuc out. Just thought id check on here first to save the cost. We have 3 m/c's set the same cant see any thing thats been altered.

Does the 233 alarm say device busy?
If so there is a setting on the PMC side of the control called online monitoring. It uses an RS-232 port. I would turn that off before calling OEM.
