This sounds like a MTB alarm. What make / model of machine is it?

I don't have any documentation on this machine, but I would guess that the alarm is being generated by the tool presetter "up" switch. You should be able to locate the input for that switch (Xnnnn.n) on the electrical drawings and check the diagnostics to see if the switch makes when the presetter is up.

On a Doosan P240, the input is X0005.7 for Q-Setter arm UP and X0004.6 for arm down. You can go to SYSTEM, [PMC], [PMC DGN], [STATUS] then key in X0005.7 and press [SEARCH]. Operate the presetter and watch the bit to see if it changes 0 to 1 when the arem goes up. If not, the switch or arm may need adjustment.

Are you trying to index the turret with the tool presetter arm in the down position? A lot of MTBs disable turret index with arm down so the turret can not index into the arm. This usually generates an alarm if you try to index the turret with the arm down.
