| Special item. the Model "A" controls were not designed to accept an SRAM or a ATA card. The "FA" card is black in color with blue lightning bolts. It is used for loading the ladder or individual files provided by the builder. Either a 128 or 256K size. FANUC sells the card to the builder and once the machine is functioning all information is stored on this card. Kind of like a powermate D or E. |

Look carefull, because the RS232 normally have small fuses on the RS232 plug of the controller. You can be in luck and some may have blow. A simple replacement could do the job. |

| Not an expert is correct. Only later i series are capable of ATA cards. The last fujitsu card I bought from Fanuc with the lightening bolts costs more than repairing the RS232. I don't think they were very easy to transfer programs with, a std computer will not read them. Lots of drivers and hope and pray you could see the card on the laptop. |
