Help Please!

i have a hitachi seike ht20 cnc lathe with a fanuc 10te-f controller and it gives me a little error light but in alarms it doesnt say what it means, any ideas?

Does it have error 1, error2 error 3 lights, or just one?

it only has one. it says alarm? above it and when in the fapt mode it says not file found, not sure if this relates or not. but it also has an error that i cannot remember what it says, i'll have to look tomorrow.

the error is sr820. we get it when we try to send a program. any help?

Ryan,
SR820 is DR OFF. This means a few things. (1) your cable is not connected to the machine through the RS232 port. (2) Check your pinout of the cable to make sure that you have the proper wiring. (3) you have the wrong device selected in the control under the “handy” settings. Attached are the pinout and parameter settings that I use on the 10series controls.

thank you i'll have to try that monday and see what happens. i know we have it connected to the correct port and i think we have the correct device selected but not 100% sure and with the pin out wiring i believe that is correct too because im pretty sure it worked before the machine crashed

You could also have a defective port if you have everything set up properly and it still does not work.
