Replace LCd on 8055M

We just had our LCD screen go out on our 8055M. Its a DB25 connector and was hoping we could just replace it with some VGA connector screen instead.


Anyone have any experience replacing these screens with a cheaper solution?

I found in search on Yahoo that a 8055M is a Fagor machine, is that correct? Do you know if the monitor is CGA or VGA? If CGA, I recently found a nice converter (Moncotech's MVC007) to convert that signal to use a VGA monitor, but the input is from a standard DB9 connector (or a DB15 connector with signals to pins as if they were from a VGA source but digital intead of VGA's normal analog signals). You'd have to know the 8055M's DB25 connector's pinout in order to use the converter.

Also it pays to check to see if the back light is working, this is the High voltage CCFL (flourescent) lamps, if no backlight, the info is on the screen, just not illuminated, the lamps or if it is the HV inverter can be replaced for a few $$'s.
