    8055i Auto cycle question

At the end of last year we purchased a new vmc with a fagor controller the 8055i.
Have a question about stopping an auto cycle mid way.

Say I wanted to stop the cycle because I had made an error.
How can I stop the cycle and move the Z axis up without reseting the machine and stopping the cutter from spinning?

Have tried many ways and cannot find anything in the manual.
I don't like the cutter stopping down in the job.
    Cheers

I simply press the red "Feed Hold" button, hit "esc". Push the "jog" softkey and then "Z+" button to move the tool up. The machine is still spinning and the tool is up, now I can continue on or "reset" to stop the spindle...

In auto mode press cycle stop and do a tool inspection.
