G73 question

Having a problem evacuating chips in a peck drilling G73 and i wish to retract the drill more before the next peck. Cannot seem to get the drill to retract more than .050" is this built-in or am i missing a code?

As far as I know the canned cycle is fixed. The alternative is a G83 which will come all the way out of the hole.

SBC Cycle is correct. the .050" back up is hard coded in the 1610 module and is not changeable.

You may want to check out G83 with an I, J, and K instead of using a Q value. I've found that it can be a real time saver when drilling lots of deep holes. The I value is an initial peck, the J is an incremental reducing value, and the K is minium peck.
