Alibre CAM and 88Hs

How do I make them communicate with each other? They're acting like 2 women pissed at each other.I do the post,I do the TA,1 and nothing happens.What am I missing here?

1st off - What DNC (communication) software are you using?

Are you talking about com port 1 on the laptop? If so, I'm not allowed to use that one or #2 so far as I can tell.

I see that I should be on port 0 in the control to have RS232 on machine active.

I would imagine that the DNC software requires either Com port 1 or 2 designation.
do this

Go into Control Panel, System, hardware, device manager. Locate and expand the ports section. Right-click on the port you want to change and choose Properties. On teh Port Settings tab choose Advanced. In the lower left is a dropdown where you can change the com port number assignment. CHoose OK back to the desktop, and the device should now be at that location.

to make sure (or change if needed) the port address of your computers serial port.
In the parameters of the machine check to see what the baudrate is set at.
In machine set up in the DNC software set to same baud as your control is.
also 7 data bits
EVEN parity
1 stop bit
handshake will be Xon/Xoff

Did you build your COM cable to Fadal specs?

Also to send do TA,1,1 on the control and then send from the DNC.

If you want a copy of NCFadal, shoot me an email.
You just leave the control at the command prompt and either DNC or send from it and the control switches over by itself.
It also has a com test designed for the 88HS

It appears that only com3 is used on the software I have so I assume I need to reset the serial port as com port 3?All is as you say.I bought it from FadalCNC.com, I assume it's correct since fadal is all they sell.I'll check it out for sure tomorrow,I'm pretty sure it's a com issue. Duh.
