| I sent you a message. Setco USA is a good choice but I offer spindle rebuilds as well and I specialize in Fadal spindles.

| Spindles are one of those things I will not touch. I will fix electronic boards, swap out just about anything but spindle bearings are just too touchy for me..LOL Just saying

| Why the reluctance? Are there special tools/measuring devices/techniques? Or is it just a case of capable/careful assembly needed? Seems like in the absence of special tools or whatever needed there are many of us capable of a rebuild. I 'm just a askin'. |

| Yes, you cannot just slide new bearings on and be done they must be shrink fit and preloaded. Their are new spindles with the better bearings that handle 10000rpm all day all year as long and the cooler is operating.

| Looks like rebuilt spindle is in order. Is this a job that can done be by me, or is it a job for a tech? Having not been that far into the machine, I figure, if I can swap out the ball screws, I can handle a spindle swap. Is there any shimming to true up the spindle to the machine. As always, Thanks, Smitty |

| Some people do try to rebuild spindles themselves, however it depends on the risk you are willing to take on the cost of new bearings and the value of your own labour. If you can provide me with: make and model of the machine, rpm range you run. If you have machine drawings that tell you the bearings part numbers in the spindle I can get you a very accurate estimate. Our work is guaranteed. Brian 250-768-8108 or 416-580-3165 |
