    looking for tension/compression tap holders

I need to get a few tension/compression tap holders. Anyone here have any ideas or maybe have some that they do not need anymore and want to sale. My machine is a 1992 VMC-40 (2216) takes a cat-40 holder.

I looked on ebay and didn't really see much the other day.

    Thanks

    tappers

    I like the procuner holders.
it uses a nut and collet so you wont drop collets. the #1 goes up to 1/4 " and is 3/4 shank and only about 3 inches long.

the problem is that i still break taps on my fadal. I would have to say that it is the #1 source of scrap parts in my shop. I have started to tap all blind holes on a drill press with a tapmatic head and haven't broken a tap with it yet

I have one of these: https://www.cnctoolholders.com/store...dproduct=17332

The price is right and the only times it's lost taps have been my fault. I found them after a bunch of searching, and saved a load of cash (though it looks like there are some decent prices on 'sets' on eBay for Techniks T/C holders)

Try www.MariTools.com. Very good tooling, and even better prices:

    CAT40 ER32 = $190.

    Best,

    That's Maritool.com (without the 's')

That's a smokin' deal on tap holders, and they use collets! Good find, BW!

I might have to buy one for my odd-sized taps; mine uses the little inserts, which you have to buy individually for different sized taps.
