Cheat

I have 91 fadal vmc6030ht with 88hs control.

Now for the fun part. I have a part that I need to make that I need 30.3 of travel. Is there any way to change the control to get the last .3 out of the machine.

Thank you.

Cheat--
Simple answer--- No. The stroke limits on the Fadal Control is controlled by software limits on the e-proms on the axis controller cards. Changing the travel limits in the SETP parameters will not give you what you want.

I have ran parts with similar problem, what I ended up doing is machining half of the part move and finish, if this is possible. So setting a stop. Breaking the one program into 2 operations.
Good Luck

Why couldnt you go into your control and set the machine to 8030 and then jog your X axis after CS and see where the stroke hard limit is located? Would this put too much strain on the motors/ballscrew/nut/amp?...oops worng axis ...sorry

Well ended up buy a really big pic of alum and shifting the part 4 time to make it. It worked but I only wanted to shift the twice the over all part was 30.05x72.25 i got the job done just not as fast as I want too. Good thing it was a T&M job.

Thank you for your input
Kyle
