I've been having to edit my programs and then send them back to my mill for even simple things like editing my depth. I know i can alter my z in DF mode but i want to be able to actually change my program numbers at the mill. Thanks in advance. |

| I just cursor down to the appropiate line and hit the "C" Key (ie its change) then type in what I want to insert a line hit the "I" Key so if you want to change your program number put the cursor on the program number hit the "C" key type in the letter "O" then the number hit "enter" you always have to type in the letter "O" on a program number |

| if your line is G1 G90 G55 X7.5 Y-.22 Z1.0 F25. After you hit"C" you will get a curser. If you want to change Z just type in "Z1.32" press enter The control will show you your original line and your changed line and ask if the change is correct. There is no need to type in the whole line just what you want to change. This command also is used to add code that does not currently exist. If you needed an "A" axis move in the above line it would add it because one does not exist to change.

| Dsuds, I don't use the PA command but get the edit menu at the bottom of the page by pressing the space bar. Then all the edit functions come up. c-change i-insert del-delete copy, replace, and whatever else is there. The function key brings up the page with drill, bore, engrave, pocket, and much more for help in g code programming. That's a life saver if the floppy, or computer is down. Kap |

| A handy, if laborious way to edit is to 'I' insert an entire line immediately under an existing line you want to make radical changes to. Insert the new line, then Delete the previous. That way, you have the original to compare to, and can check for errors before confirming the delete. If you want to delete a word within a line, go to 'C' change and type a semi colon after, and it'll disappear. (I'm at home....no manuals....it is after, right?) In a long program, you can go right thru your tool changes by doing a search for 'T'. I'm sure there's also better ways to do this, but I've found it handy to use the tool number at the end of the 'F' word....such as...T1 feed rates will always contain some feed rate with .1 at the end, like F20.1 or F5.1 , or, for T14 use F9.14, because if you do a search and replace to change that tool's feed rate, you could change other tool's feed rates as well without some unique identifier. Unfortunately, that trick won't work with absolutes like Z... |
