Tmills--
Have you checked the power going to the monitor fot the right voltage? Also, verify that the cables at the 1420 card in slkot #7 is solid in its connection and all wiring going to the monitor is properly connected.
You might also try removeing the 1420 card and clean the gopld edge contacts and re-seating the card.

Neal, I don't think that is the the problem. If the power is fluctuating, he will surly see that the light also flickering. Not only that if power goes below 90VAC (power input to the monitor) then only it will effect the display. Monitor has it's own 12 DC power supply so minor change in power won't effect the display.

I am running a rotary phase converter also (15HP) My buddy checked power to the machine and all looks great. I'm not a electric guy so I will have my buddy check power to monitor.

Last night it stayed on for about 5 min. I adjusted the brightness and fixed the fuzzy look with the 2 knobs in back of monitor. Screen looked very nice and crisp. Then it flickered out and in....Then I hit the side of the monitor and it came back again...then lost again....Tried messing with some wires but nothing....thanks for your input guy's....anything else would be great.

Thanks TMILLS

Sounds like cold solder joints somewhere. Typical for anything PCB based from the 80's and early 90's. Today, soldering is better and QC is alot better.

I replaced my green screen CRT with an LCD screen. If you want to buy my old one I would let it go with shipping for $250. Includes the power supply board that attaches to the CRT chassis. My CRT screen had very minor screen burn. As in you cannot really see ghost print except with the power off. I can provide pics of the unit. If you happen to want to buy a new one, here is where Fadal parts are at http://www.omnivisionusa.com/replace..._mon_home.html
LP1215H1N-P31 = $399.00 each

Thanks for all the input guy's.......I will consider it Fastfiero ...thanks

I opened the back again and the large board sitting flat beneath monitor must have a wire loose.....I pushed on the board and the display lit up. Then after a while it went out again. I pushed on the board then it lit up again.......so I think I have narrowed it down to a loose wire or solder somewhere on the board.

Thanks again guy's.I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions considering I havn't run a fadal in about 17 yrs.

Tmills--
Glad to hear you found the connection issue. I have seen this happen before that's why I suggested checking all the wiring going to the monitor.
Sounds like you're on the why to solving the issue.
