[Get lucky]

OK just a Question.

When I send a program to the machine it looks like this:

Now why dose it put a space between every line because when I load it in a fanuc it makes a lot of extra lines

Is there any way to make it not do this.

It's your comm software settings. What Software are you using? There.s a setting for sending carriage return (10?) with line feed(13?), or minus line feed, or some combination like that.

The two programs are NOT the same. Are you sure that you downloaded the correct one? When you reload the program back into the CNC memory the spaces and blank lines will be deleted by the control.

It works fine with fanuc and yes the programs are not the same because one was sent to a fanuc and sent back fine and the other was sent to the fadal and sent back and saved so I no longer have the orignal.

In the fadal they do go away but when I load into the fanuc they stay.

You're right. In the Fadal control blank lines and spaces are removed to conserve mamory stroage space.

I usually open the file in my editor and use the "remove blanks line" feature and resave it. PIA, but it works.

I can't recall the exact settings but my DNC strips Line Feed and Carriage Returns.

CORRECTION, I use Predator and on receive it has a setting "Windows Style CR/LF" That's what I use and it works great.

In my Quick Link software it had something like "Ignore additional CR/LF" or strip or something. I haven't used it for a while.
