Koshy, the company I work for is located in Monrovia, California. Ever since we purchased our Fadal about 4 years ago we have had a lot of pretty substantial problems including the main board going out, the x axis motor going out, the spindle going out twice and just two days ago we had an error 18 pop up and had to have the y axis amp board replaced. We probably have spent about $17,000 in repairs.
It is driving me and my boss crazy especially since we are easy on the machine- cut aluminum molds, mostly use small cutter and generally do not run the head over 6000 rpms. Recently, we found out that we had irregular voltage coming into the shop from Cal Edison and I am wondering if this kind of thing could of messed up the board and caused other problems.
What I really need is someone who knows Fadals inside and out and are able to be creative in solving problems. Every time I get a repair facility into the shop they seem to be just reading error codes and swapping parts. They DO NOT seem to be able to figure out why problems are occurring or maybe they just do not care. It is frustrating.
Just today while I was away from work due to attending a funeral- I received messages that the Fadal is acting wierd again- it just stopped running a program and when the tech / repair guy came by he just told us that he did not know why that happened but it seems to be fine now. This is the same place that replaced the amp 0029 a day or two ago but he did not know if what they did caused the problem today.
I guess I just wish I could fine some Obi 1 of fadal repair guys!
I just emailed you my phone number. Give me a call tonight or tomorrow.
