Hi all, I've purchased a VMC 3016, year 1996. I'll have riggers here to unload the machine but they are not terribly familiar with Fadals. I would like to have forklift bars on hand. Does anyone know what size bars the holes will accept? I'm thinking about picking up some 1.5"x3"x.375 hot rolled tube. Would that fit? Thank you, Rob |

| Hi FadalNewbie, One of these days you are going to know all about fadals and will have to pass on the handle to a "new" newbie. But for now the forklift bars you mentioned should be just fine. You will need two of them about 48" long each. The machine only weighs about 8300#. You could use round bars but I wouldn't recommend them unless they had a rectangular loop welded on one end to fit over a fork to prevent rolling. Some kind of pad between the bars and the forks would be good also to get away from the metal to metal contact (less chance to slide). Some riggers use pieces of flattened fire hose. If the machine is going very far don't forget the head counterweight bars. Good luck, enjoy your new toy, Gary |
