Lubrication problem

friday my Fadal started using alot of oil like half a tank in 8 hours, I am sure there is a leak. I took the covers off and found lots of oil in the x saddle,

however I cant find the leak, how can I make the pump pump manually so I can find it.

I did notice on the front side(closest to the door) the bottom way has a ton of oil on the bottom side..

does anyone have a schematic of the oiling lines?
how do you make the oil tank pump manually to find the leak?

Any other suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks
Delw

I've got a '93 and a '94 that are pretty much the same. There is an air valve on top of your waylube pump. On one end of it, there is a circle with an indentation. Stick something small in there, a pen might work, push, and it will fire off manually.

There is a flex hose that joins the oil system to the X table.
They typically need replaced every couple of years.
I would look at it first. , before tracing out the rest of the machine.
Run your table about half way (from CS to full stroke) X+.
Flip up the X- end way-cover (pull the end out an inch or so and lay it over on itself - don't worry about the springs)
You can see the black hose and check it for damage/leaking by manually cycling the pump and a flashlight.
It could also be a stuck injector, they occasionally need cleaned or replaced.

Thanks Bubba, I pushed it nothing and again nothnig, came back to read post again went back worked, WTF?
found out its better to have the machine off when doing this otherwise the button wont work for a while( if you catch it in the cycle)

Darbee when I grabbed a mirrow last ngith I thguth the same thing, but it wasnt that at least it doesnt look like it.
it is however leaking out of the front of the x table,
Talked to neal this morning andf he suggested that it could be a blown out metering valve,

I did find another leak and that was a metering valve not screwed in all the way into the block on the left side bolted to the Y saddle.

I am going to replace all the metering valves so I know they all work.

BTW got a cool schematic from neal also in a pdf file, shows all the routes that helps alot.
Thanks Guys

heres a quick update, I hadnt ran the machine due to the leak and just ran my haas, till I had time to fix it. friday night I started messing around with it, traced the leak to the front x way oil would pour out.
The reason I didnt run it is due to if too much oil is going through one opening then your not getting oil to anything else. which is not good at all. and its not worth ruining a machine over.
so since I was sure the leak was on the one part, I put the x table all the way to the left and popped out the metering valve to see if it could be a blown out unit, ( which I have never seen ever and I have replaced lots of these on lathes and acrolocs).
when I yanked it it had a nice hole completely through, the screen was gone or what ever else was in there.
now since I had it apart I was trying to figure out how I could run it. Didnt want to block it off just for the weekend. finanly said screw it toss my cig in the ashtray. the answer was right there.
the filter on the cig. I was able to pack enough in ther to get a couple of drops of oil just like the other ones did took me all but 10 mins. hooked it back up and everything is running perfectly oil wise. now tomorrow I can order some new ones and not have a machine down while waiting. quick fix if you need to run. Make sure you pack the filter material in cross grain so it doesnt flow through and plug up anything.

the metering unit that had the problem was on the x table on the bottom side fo the table ( it has 3 metering units_ you dont have to take any covers off to replace them, just run your x all the way to the left grab a mirror, a 3/8" wrench and a 10mm wrench and your done.
