Need Help!- spindle won't reverse

Hello all,

My Fadal VMC-20 goes into alarm when tapping. Forward is ok, when it tries to reverse the spindle, it alarms. I tried swapping relay K4 with K3 and checked fuse F3. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is a rigit tap machine?.. check parameters (setp) orient 5, rpm10,change the
rigid tap factor. Check connection at controler card and inverter.

It is not rigid tap.

the spindle should go ON REVERSE
what's the program block for the tappyng cycle?
are you using a tapmatic head?

Have tried that, the machine alarms and has to be restarted. I am not using a Tapmatic Head, am using a tension - compression holder.

make shure spindle pot is at 100%
check orient switch
check belts tension
check air press
and power to inverter, 230

If the spindle won't reverse under any circumstance, check Fuse F3, Relays K9 and
K4 on the 1100-2 board. Also check for loose wires or terminals.

It was relay K-9 (the dirty dog!).
