This should have been easy, as M48 and M49 control active/non-active for the Feedrate override and Spindle override. In my case, It does affect the Spindle override, but the Feedrate override stays fixed at 100%. It used to work as it should. The potentiometer is OK. The potentiometer output voltage varies up and down as it should from the potentiometer to the keyboard interface card. It also varies from approx. 1 V to 9.5V+ out of the keyboard card and into the clock/feedrate card 1020 (measured on the board on the back solder joint for the J1 connector). The clock/feedrate board was exchanged with another machine and is not the problem. I can find no other code or parameter to cause this. Also, I could not find an input which would cause this. So, good potentiometer, good keyboard interface card, good wiring, good clock feedrate board, M48 code activated-still 100% feedrate always---even if I unplug the J1 connector and have no input to the clock feedrate card. Fadal service has no clue as to the solution. Has anyone ever seen this or have other ideas? |

| Has the machine recently been moved? Have you checked the wiring from the potentiameter to the clock board? You did about everything your supposed to and it still didnt fix the problem I would say check high rpm for stutter and check at 2499rpm for stutter.

| Your feed rate pot connects to J2 pins 12&3 on the 1090-3B or -6 keyboard interface board. That board may be the source of the issue. Also check the cable for cross shorts from the over ride switch to the 1090. Neal |

Remove the shroud from on top of the motor. There is a 3" cap with two screws. Remove the cap. Now there is a small plastic encoder cap with two more screws. Unplug the wire to the encoder, take the two screws completely out of this cap. Hold onto where the wires plugged in at and remove the cap. Lift the cap cautiously, so you don't damage the disc from underneath the cap.Clean the encoder disc with alcohol and q-tips. Clean the encoder reader with eletrical contact cleaner. reassemble and try it. This works for my machines. Maybe you too!

| Hey everyone, I had a major stupid attack. When I read the initial thread, I had convinced myself that the issue was a spindle override problem. I am so sorry for the confusion. Hit me with a brick and I may even wake up this morning. Sorry, I can't help with the feed override. I too, have never witnessed that problem.
