| I have a '91 4020 {cnc88} and I'm trying to max the memory in the control. A call to Fadal pointed me towards a REM 93 (128k) Aadd-on card for my existing memory board (1400-2a w/ a 1810-0 plug in card). Fadal tried to convince me I'll never find what I need and offered me a control upgrade for @ $3,500.00. I'd appreciate and guidance to help me find this item. Attached pic's show my existing card and the plug-in card Thanks Bill |

| I have givin up on this myself. my machine is a few years newer than yours (still DC though) and they tell me I can get the mem upgrade, it is approx $5g CDN plus installation. All this so I can have half the memory of my pocket calculater? WTF. Definately not worth it IMO. If I absolutely had to run from my machine control I would upgrade the whole control system. I currently DNC most of my programs, and if I have some production to do I just keep tweaking the code to get it down to the 2000 (approx) lines that the 88HS will handle, if possible.

| I DNC with "XPert DNC" I used NCNet lite once and then I got my VisualMill 5 upgrade, which had added XPert DNC to the software package. I feed the machine from a laptop. Your machine maybe has the built in PC beside the control? I know they all came packaged from Fadal with Gibbs. Wait a minute your machine is too old to have that control setup.

| Let me e-mail you a pic, you can tell me if it looks like it will fit. I took it off when I switched my -4 boards to a -5. I eneded up with a 4 meg memory card and this 422 expansion card was a left over. I was just out cleaning my garage cabinets and ran across all of these boards I had and this one reminded me you were looking. It was taken off my machine in working condition about 6-8 months ago, so it should be fine, I just don't know if it will fit your system card. Belay that let me see if I can just post a pic or two here....if not I'll e-mail them to you... hang on a sec.... |

| I have the same (4160-2) plug in here on my desk, problem is (see 2 pic's on 1st page) my card only supports the 4 chip plug in as shown. The card FADAL told me I need is a REM 93 (128k). I never seen one but it's what my control will accept. Did that board come from a '94 machine or newer? thanks for you effort |
