I am replacing the Y axis thrust bearings on a 6030VMC. There is a 'V' mark on the outer ring of the bearing. I don't know if the open ends, or closed ends are supposed to face each other. What is the configuration? |

| Angular bearings. i think the bottom of the v is supposed to face each other. In the Fadal application, this also means the larger of the inner flanges faces each other with the shim (.0015") inbetween. Of that I'm sure of. |

| Thanks. This was also confirmed by a Mag Fadal parts blog ( phone 1-800-934-0735). These are NSK bearings, and while the 'V' is meant to describe something else, it does point in the direction of the angle. With the angles facing each other, would be the closed ends of the 'V' pointing at each other. |
