Was the tool sucked out of the tool holder?

no the machine seemed to just veer in to the part in two places then start cutting again correctly as i earlier posted these moves dont show on plotted gcode.

Does it repeat the same move if you run it again? (move your part zero up to a safe point of course) and can you post the section of code where it happens?

if its a 3d program, it might not like a diam. offset.
i posted a mastercam program for a fadal and forgot to set it to zero, and it scrapped the part out. not sure why it would go down in z though. hmmmm

Fadal has had problems in the past with "outside influence" such as leaving the RS232 cable pulgged in and receiving false signals. Even though you have not hit TA,1 the machine, it will still take in info. It will screw something up for sure. Maybe putting in the CD dripped some errant info in? Fadal in the past years has even changed their opinion on ground rods as well. We had some errant data here and there and they asked if the RS232 cable was in, was the disk drive used and was it connected to a ground rod.

This may be a dumb question, but were you turning on/off cutter comp at the time?

no the first time it happened i was running from memory and while it was running i inserted a cd into the drive, the second time i was running off of cd because of program size hit feed hold turned off spindle because of high rpm when i got back turned on spindle hit cycle start two seperate incidents both non repeatable since then it fried the spindle bearings, not to impressed with the machine at this point.
