Question "Parts Manual" for a VMC40 from 1985?

Does anyone know where to get, or have, a parts manual for an ancient (1985) VMC40? I see there are parts manuals and other documents online for various fadal models, but none for this old VMC40.

I'm looking for exploded diagrams of the various machine sections, with part numbers.

Thanks for any help!

-Peter

Call CNCFADAL and talk to them. They also have the newer parts manuals on line. I don't believe there are major changes to the VMC 40 over the years other than sheet metal and some electronics. I had an 1989 vmc 40 and now have a 1996 vmc 15 xt very little and obvious differences. I can most likely answer any difference questions you may have, as I'm just about finished doing a total rebuild on the 15xt and worked on the vmc 40. Others I'm sure, can help here also.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the tip Steve - I was wondering how much difference there was between the VMC40 and VMC15. Looks like I might get by with the VMC15 manual in a pinch.

I sent the FadalCNC.com guys an e-mail - I'll see if they come up with anything.

If anybody has one of these manuals, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll use the VMC15 manual and the kind help of the CNCZone users to get by

Thanks!

I suggest you look at the VMC 2216 manual. That is the same, I believe, as the VMC 40. i.e. Solid way vs linear ...15hp vs 7.5hp ect...ect..

You might give this guy a call on ebay. He is selling a 1986 4020 and may sell you a copy of the parts manual. I doubt if you need one though.

eBay

Steve,

Good idea about eBay. I found somebody selling a 1986 VMC40 on eBay, so I e-mailed him about manuals.

In the meantime, I'll switch to the 2016 manuals - I haven't started the retrofit yet, but these look like they will match the VMC40 pretty well.

Thanks again!

Post Manual Attached

Fadal VMC40 Maintenance manual. This was invaluable for retrofitting my 1985 VMC40. The manuals available online do not go back this far in Fadal history I had to purchase it from someone selling a VMC on eBay.

Can somebody suggest a place to put this on the web that's a little more "permanent?" I've put it on my website, but I'd like this to be someplace people can get it in the future.

Here is a link: http://peterjjensen.com/Fadal/Fadal%20VMC%20Manual.pdf

Cheers,

If you need any parts for your old VMC40, let me know. I don't have a parts manual but I know the machine pretty well. Fadal bought back quite a few of them and dismantled them so there are only a few left out in the market.
