    Oil system flushing with Kerosene?

The book says to do it with kerosene followed by fresh oil. We noticed on a Z-axis on one of your Fadals that it looked really dry. We jogged the machine all the way up and looked at the upper 4 oil holes. To my suprise no oil came out when the system cycled and the X/Y and ballscrews had ample oil after taking covers off. I did notice the yellow parrafin in the oil groove and I think the 8 way body where the oil comes in actually has inline filters on each line. Has anyone here shared the same issue or had the kerosene flush or can someone recommend a better way?
We have had good luck with our Fadals milling mostly soft steel and aluminum up to 5 axis. We are always looking for spare parts :) If you have a broken down Fadal give a shout.

Question I would make a guess...

...or at least look at... that your Z axis lub metering valves are clogged or damaged somehow. I recall a comment from a Fadal tech about it years back. He claimed that could happen if the incorrect lub oil was used at some time in the machines life or just plain dirty oil got in the system.
I may be wrong but, I think the valves for each axis are adjusted to allow for the different pressures required to lub at the different heights. The Z axis line has the longest path to push the oil, so it I imagine they would show the worst clogging first
This is all hearsay or guessing on my part, it has not happened to me.

Well there are two lines coming out of the pump for oil. They run to a 3 way splitter with a adjustment screw. One line runs up to the Z axis and into a 8 way valve. The other runs to the saddle. I am not sure if we want to meter the oil away from the saddle or if we want to open up the stroke adjustment a little. Thoughts?

The metering devices on the end of the lube lines will tend to clog after several years of use, I have tried washing them out and using compressed air on them, but they are never the same, they have very small orifices, the size # of which is stamped on the outside.
Before replacing all the metering devices, the line should be flushed out until any congealed oil has been removed.
    The pump, likewise.

Yes I think the manifold filters could be changed.
