The z axis motor on our machine has been reaching temps of 150 after running for 5 to 6 hours. The temperature increases gradually. We have checked all mechanical possibilities for binding, the cooling system and also the motor. We are now considering the amplifier board for the z axis. Which leads me to the question: Can I swap out the z board for the x or y just for testing purposes? |

| I assume that you have a DC motor since it alarms out at 150 degrees. An AC motor will continue working into the 170s temp wise. I would check the brushes in the DC motor and also the Tachometer in the motor. Verify that no moisture has worked its way in to the motor. Check the cable casing for possible splits or cracks that could allow coolant to enter. Neal |
