I am having big time problem with Fadal VMC 40 (CNC 88 controls, ID90 2N-2 software version). I am trying to change some parameters within Format 1 or Format 2 (like imperial to metric, G91 to G90, b/r from 2400 to 9600 etc) but it would not save it. Also I am trying to read parameters through PC using PU,4 command and only thing that I receive is %%. Can somebody help me? |

| You need to shut down the machine to have the parameters save with the changes. Not sure about the PC issues, I have never tried to send my parameters.

| if you can send a program to your PC from your machine, then you can send parameters. I have never seen it were it will send a program but not parameters. I would make sure you can send a program to your pc correctly. you may also have a problem in human readable charactors in your pc software( some programs strip certain charactors) It also might be that your pc is reading in another language( other than english) and the Fadal may not reconize it. I have no clue about that but its a thought. |

| The software version that you have does not support the PU,4 command. You will need to manually copy down the parameters. Don't forget, your software is version is over 18 years old. After you change a parameter you will need to return to ENTER NEXT COMMAND and perform an manual Cold Start procedure. That will save the changes. Neal |
