my '92 fadal -10k spindle has been having problems getting into the higher rpms. If I try to run the spindle above 3000 rpm from 0 the spindle load led indicator would almost redline until the motor gets to speed, then will go back to 3-5 bars. Sometimes if it doesn't get to speed within a few seconds it would error out with a c axis error. Anyone familar with this? Almost sounds like the belt is slipping and it's taking time to catch up. It's not squelling, but rattling like the cover is loose. In MDI mode I can start it at 3000 and bump it up to 5000 and show very little strain on the load indicator. Only from going from 0 to hi rpm gives me problems. I plan to take off the cover and take a look to see if there is anything obvious. I know there are a few air pistons in there, do they need to be oiled? Is there any code i can force the pistons to activate to check if they're running smoothly? |

| s.1 and s.2 will switch between hi and low gear without turning on spindle. the pistons your looking for are on the right side of the head as you look at it. hope that helps the pistons work on air pressure so when the air goes down the tension lets up, this could be a problem when torque is needed. aint to good on the belts anytime. try turning by hand to see if its binding up in either gear. pinching between the gaurd and pulley could be the problem, ive had belts actually twisted once when we took them apart. You should be able to just add oil to the reservior but first remove the air lines. It is located on top and has two black aluminum blocks with air mufflers on them. You will have to pull the bolts and make sure not to loose the o rings under them. Its pretty easy really |
