Anyone make a custom 4th and 5th axis?

Reading the head porting thread got me thinking about a custom 4th and 5th axis for a Fadal. I know we would need a M code card and two std axis amplifiers plus wiring for a 5th axis on a Fadal that was prewired for 4th axis (correct). We would then need a couple of Fadal shorty servo motors and a custom coupling unit that attached to a fixture. Would we need a massive gear reduction like the VH65 has?

Rino sells a 4/5 for there mills that they sell to the automotive industry they use a centroid control I think seem's like it is a lot taller than a Hass trunion I haven't seen a stand alone Hass 4/5 but they might be an option or If your ambitous you could build your own simoutanious 4and five I would think takes a lot of computer power to do the number's Let me know what you find out Kevin

CHECK THIS OUT!! This is Pro-heads 5 axis setup. It is built from a Fadal stubby servo, 90:1 reduction and backlash tensioner and the stubby motor actually sits inside the thu hole of a fadal driven 300MM japanese large rotary table. This is out of this world! The owner Richard actually did the work about 10 years ago.

Here is a video of it running!

I like this setup!

I like the Centroid setup as well. I wonder if their is a way to use two Fadal stubby servos with a custom Centroid like setup.
