    Exclamation Fadal Spindle 10K

I have had a number of problems with our 4020 it's about 2 years old now.
A little history, the conveyor came in and would not work it took three monthe for Fadal to replace, then the spindle motor when out only 1 month later. I'm on my third spindle and this is where I need to know if anyone else has had this problem. This spindle uses a chiller and the first one the bearing when, the second one lasted about a year and a half, this one was that the service rep. never removed the paper tags on the replacement spindle and it covered the return on the chiller bearing burned up.
Fadal would not give me a break even tho I have always used their authorized dealers. This new spindle locks up before starting and the belt churp and we get a motor overload also now the ridgit tapping not working and this is because the spindle at times gets stuck just long enough to break the tap. I have had this spindle for about a month and the dealer said Fadal will not warrenty the sindle and he has to cover the costs. Has anyone got a suggestion as to what maybe happening that i could fix. Can't rely on Fadal.

If what you say is accurate.
Everything should be/have been covered under warranty.
If it is Fadal not covering the stuff, they will go out of business quickly.
It is more than likely faults of your dealer. They are certified factory repair? (should be if they sell new). If they screw up an install it is THEIR fault.
Have you talked directly to FADAL?
They need to save face on this matter somehow.

    also
are the spindles Fadal certified? or just done be a local rebuild shop?

I know that the spindles from Fadal used to carry a one (1) year warranty from the time that they are installed. I would contact Fadal directly and submit your service reports and tell them what is going on. I would expect that if the spindle were purchased from Fadal that they would have to warranty it.

The chiller pumps and motors that Fadal has used in the past four (4) years are junk. We also had problems and pumps/motors replaced. The system NEVER did work properly. Our machine went thru four (4) spindles in the two (2) years we had the machine (and this was an air/oil spindle). I finally traded the machine in for a different brand of machine as it NEVER worked properly from day one.

Just so everyone knows, I took pictures and sent them with the returned spindle, Koster Machine did the replacement from a previous dealer.
From conversation with them Fadal would not cover. Now per conversation with Koster the spindle that needs replacement again he has to eat the labor and materials because Fadal will not reimbuse him.
Look I have been a Fadal man for a long time but this is the first time I can say that I cannot support the Fadal line. This machine has cost so much to keep running. I did call the factory and awaiting a call back.
Sorry to sound angry I just needed to know if anyone was having similar problems.

    Yep...
In my opinion, Fadal is in for the sale of the machine. They seem to care less if there is a problem. They (Fadal corporate) leaves it in the hands of the dealer to make good on the faulty equipment that comes new from their factory. I also think that Fadal makes up for their competitive machine price with the cost of the repair parts. Some of the items are plain outragous (SP).

My opinion only based on past experiences.

are you sure the belt is not slipping ? is the spindle mechanically free ? it should be really smooth to rotate by hand with no "lumpiness". the authorised dealer needs to do his job and fix your problem, I'm not surprised Fadal are refusing to warranty it.
